1.2367 - RPU:
high temperature toughness

1.2367 – RPU steel is a Cr-Mo-V alloyed hot-work tool steel and a combination of the steels USN and RP. Good high temperature toughness is combined with good high temperature strength.

The most common applications for steel type 1.2367 – RPU are:
 
  • Extrusion press tools such as pipe extrusion mandrels, press stems, die holders and inner liners for heavy metal alloys.
  • Die casting tools for high shot numbers in light metal processing.
  • Impression dies for heavy and light metal processing.
  • Dies or die inserts under forging presses for steel forming.

Heat treatment

Hardening Temperature: 1030 – 1050 °C
Cooling Air, warm bath approx. 540 °C, Oil/polymer; Interrupt oil or polymer cooling at 230 – 280 °C or vacuum hardening
Tempering Temperature: 520 – 700 °C
Hardness: see tempering curve
Nitriding Possible
Preheat before use Temperature: 150 – 350 °C
