Steel TQ1
TQ1 steel:
maximum toughness and high-temperature strenght.
What?
Steel TQ1 is a Cr-Mo-V alloyed hot work tool steel with very good high-temperature strength characteristics and maximum toughness. This quality is also characterised by good thermal shock resistance and is only manufactured in remelted form according to the ESU process.
Material properties
- High strength.
- Maximum toughness.
- Thermical schock resistance.
Application
- Pressure die casting.
- Extrusion presses for heavy duty press stamps > 1100 MPa, dies.
- Drop forging.
- Hot forming.

Nitriding | If die-casting dies are to be nitrided, nitriding program 99 should be selected. This nitriding layer does not have a compound layer and therefore does not have a negative impact on the formation of thermal shock cracks |
